In the words of sapient, poet/philosopher, Steve Miller ... "Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin'." And, my goodness has it ever done that.
I hope this episode doesn't come off as a little self congratulatory but to help me process the formidable challenge of wrapping up a radio career that I've loved for the better part of 4 decades, my friends @Julie Bullivant from The One Morning Show and Paul Dekker from Conway Furniture join me to reflect and reminisce about a life (and career) that's been truly good.
(My last show here is this Friday, Nov 29th)
I've spent a significant part of the last 45 years doing radio in Wingham, almost 35 of those years getting up around 4:am to do a morning show on one of the three stations here.
I hope this podcast doesn't sound too self congratulatory. To be honest I think I did it as much for me as I did for the pod. It's a bit of a stroll down memory lane and I was filled with all the feels while recording and putting it together.
I'm honoured to have two people joining me who have been a big part of my career for most of those years. The one and only Julie B from 1017 the One and Paul Dekker from Conway Furniture. My friends, are here to reflect and reminisce with me about a life that is truly good.
Morning Show Host @ 101.7 the One / Wife / Mother
Julie B’s unique and cheerful personality is made up of sugar, spice, everything nice. Mixed with a love of music, waterfronts, and word games… and baked in a complicated relationship with carbs. Meaning… her favourite thing is carbs, least favourite thing is carbs, and her favourite food is fettuccine alfredo. As long as it’s made really really well and there are no onions! Then, it’s totally worth the carbs. She’s a sucker for good naps, witty repartee, and making homemade soup. Her infinite list of favourite artists includes the Dixie Chicks, Michael Buble, P!nk, Train, Maroon 5, Jason Mraz, Bruno Mars… and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
